The Royal Château of Amboise is one of the major sites in the Loire valley, highly appreciated by a large number of visitors.

Receptionists wearing a badge will welcome you in French and English and are available if you need help in finding your way around the site or other assistance.

Left Luggage
On your arrival, leave any luggage in the areas provided. There is also a group left-luggage area and for pushchairs (not mandatory) available on request at the ticket office.

It is authorized to eat on the grass in the gardens. Don’t forget to leave the site as clean as you found it.
Bar and ice-cream vendor on terraces (1st April to 30th September)

CLEANLINESS
Recycling bins are to be found on the terraces
Cleaning personnel are permanently present on the site and in the toilets (in season)

The Royal Château of Amboise together with 12 other sites, among the most prestigious, have introduced in partnership with the Departmental Committee of Tourism in Touraine a common set of standards « The quality of tourist and cultural sites in the Loire valley ». Having undertaken the necessary action and shown respect for the criteria on reception and services means that these sites will shortly be able to obtain the national Tourism Quality label.

The whole site is clean and well kept. The equipment is in good condition and functions correctly. Running the site is done so in full respect of the environment: management of approach areas, management of the buildings, of surrounding countryside and parkland, and of waste.

There exists a website; this site is user-friendly and offers a true representation of the actual site.
Reception by phone is efficient and courteous.

The entrance to the site is obvious to find and welcoming. Personalized welcome makes the site even more attractive.

Toilet facilities are kept clean and are under supervision.
The site offers facilities which are complementary to the visit: a boutique, an ice-cream vendor (during the summer season).
