A visit with commentary of the Royal apartments and Saint-Hubert’s Chapel (tomb of Leonardo da Vinci) proposes a selection of 5 visits adapted to each level of the French teaching programme made with the assistance of the Education Authorities of Indre-et-Loire. Visits are in French, English, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. Included is the free dispatch of a Teacher’s booklet as well as access to the teaching area at the end of each visit.

New! Make your visit of the royal apartments last a little longer with the multi-media garden tour.

A tour of the château gardens on the theme of History. Visit carried out by the teacher, prepared with the elements downloaded in French from our website (description of the tour, theme presentation, sound sequences played on the audio-phone) and a teacher's case to be collected at the ticket office and handed back at the end of the visit (sheets of illustrations, children's activity booklets). The teacher remains in charge of the visit and class, which can be divided into subgroups with 8 members each, and a different audio-phone sound sequence for each group. Visit lasting approximately one hour, suitable for 8 to 12 year-olds, available all year round with prior booking.

Self-guided visit

Visit of the Royal apartments, Saint-Hubert’s Chapel and gardens accompanied by the teacher. Possibility to prepare the visit with the help of the Teacher’s booklet (sent on request : cost 10 €) in French.

Admission fee : school group access
Accompanying person : adult group access (1 free admission per group of 15 school children)

Enjoy your stay at the Château d'Amboise a little longer by having lunch on site!

Château Amboise offers you a lunch-in-basket service, with prior booking, so that you make the most of your visit of the site, allowing you to move around leisurely without any constraints.

To make this possible, the château has made available the Salle de Lys de France, former refectory for the sentries of the medieval fortress of Amboise, so that lunch can be eaten in the warm, under shelter, all year round. With an area of 230m2, this room can cater for up to 150 visitors.
(Important: the room is only open to those who have booked a picnic lunch with the château).

A day in Amboise - 19 € / school-child. New visit to discover in one day Leonardo and the Renaissance on the two historical sites in Amboise. Centralised booking, advantageous and unique admission fee (separate payment on each site) Safe pedestrian access to go from one site to the other. Free parking in proximity to the two sites.
