ADAPTED ACCESS FOR PHYSICALLY DISABLED VISITORS: PORTE DES LIONS, RUE AUGUSTIN THIERRY, 37400, AMBOISE. GPS: N.47.413144/E.O. 988908

Speak to the ticket office staff via the interphone. They will open the gates leading to the parking area near the royal loggia. From there, it is possible to reach the St. Hubert Chapel (Leonardo da Vinci’s tomb), then the royal loggia.

The visitor in question must be with an accompanying adult (their presence is required to traverse the steep slopes and sloping gravel paths in the gardens).

Direct access to the ticket office via a lift from the private entrance and the terraces.

However, it is advisable to pre-purchase your entrance tickets and your chosen visits online.

Using the visitor guide

Individuals can discover the château and its gardens at their own pace using the visitor guide. Guide available in French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Polish, Russian, Hungarian, Czech, Romanian, Brazilian, Japanese, Chinese (traditional and simplified) and Korean.

The Royal Château of Amboise was the playground of the kings’ children. Charles VIII, François 1er and the children of Henri II and Catherine de Medici were raised here. Guide cost included in château entrance ticket price.

Bilingual (French-English) illustrated visitor guide recommended for visitors between 7 and 12 years.

Video-guided visit

Ground floor: Entrance courtyard side. Ramp access over steps.

1st floor: Access from garden side (mezzanine) via a straight staircase. Retractable ramp access over steps.

2nd floor: Not accessible (spiral staircase). The video-guide made available for you at the entrance will enable you to see the inaccessible parts of the loggia (St. Hubert Chapel, 2nd floor and the Minimes Tower). Audio and video guided visits available in French and English.

Château staff will guide you and help with your visit to the loggia.
