ACCESSIBILITY AT THE MONUMENT

ADAPTED ACCESS FOR PHYSICALLY DISABLED VISITORS: PORTE DES LIONS, RUE AUGUSTIN THIERRY, 37400, AMBOISE.

Speak to the ticket office on the interphone. They will open the gates leading to the parking area near the royal loggia. From there, it is possible to reach the St. Hubert Chapel (Leonardo da Vinci’s tomb), then the royal loggia.

The visitor in question must be with an accompanying adult (their presence is required to traverse the steep slopes and sloping gravel paths in the gardens).

Direct access to the ticket office via a lift from the private entrance and the terraces.

However, it is advisable to pre-purchase your entrance tickets and your visit extras online.

CHAPEL AND ROYAL LOGGIA

Visually impaired visitors are given special permission to touch items in the collection and the decors that are not too fragile. In this event, the staff can open the security ropes on request.  The staircases are equipped with fixed ramps on the righthand side. The doorways and covered passages are lit.

CLASSIC GUIDED VISIT

Throughout the Centuries

Guided visits led by a lecturer-guide from the Château, available throughout the year, booking required. Commentary in French, English, German, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese (50ppl. max/group).

Duration of the visit: 1 hour

Last afternoon departure: 1 hour before the ticket office closes from 1/03 to 15/11; 30 minutes before the ticket office closes from 16/11 to 28/02.

Guided visits not available between 12.30pm and 1.30pm.

 

Audio-guided visit

Audio-guided visit with adapted audio-description kindly provided by the Valentin Haüy association, available in French and English. Available free of charge

Duration 1 hour.

Last availability 1 hour before the ticket office closes.
