CLASSIC GUIDED VISITS
"The château throughout the centuries"
Visit commented in French by a guide speaker, all public. Price: included in the entrance fee to the castle. From February 5 to March 6, 2022, daily at 11 a.m., 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

Bilingual (French-English) illustrated visitor guide recommended for visitors from 7 to 12 years.
Individual visitors can discover the château and its gardens at their own pace using a visitor guide. TOWERS AND UNDERGROUND AREAS

Guided visit
"The Corridors of History"
from 7 years old
Individual visitors (in a small group, formed in situ) will get the exceptional opportunity to enter the underground passageways and towers of the medieval fortress situated under the Renaissance royal loggia. Thus they will enter at the foot of the ramparts in the Garconnet Tower, built in the 15th century on the orders of Louis XI, before reaching the Lys Room, former guards’ refectory. From there, they will take a round trip through the ditches of the former keep and walk along the rooms where stone was stored. Visitors will then enter the underground mazes before reaching the Minimes cavalry tower.
One-hour, guided visit in French for individual visitors in good physical condition, aged 7 and up.
Group of individuals, formed in situ (18 max. per group)
- On Saturdays and Sundays at 5 pm from april 1st to june 30, daily at 11.30 am and 5 pm on july and august, and on satudays and Sundays at 4.30pm in september.
Booking recommended:
Secure online payment, at least 36hrs before the time of visit. Any remaining places will be available at the ticket office until the start of the tour.

La jeune et jolie Gabrielle de Saint Ouen est l’une des personnalités les plus pétillantes du château royal d’Amboise. On ne lui connait qu’un (gros) défaut : elle a les oreilles qui trainent… et la langue bien pendue. En sa compagnie, le temps d’une déambulation au Château Royal, partagez tous les petits secrets de la Cour de France. »

Nouveau parcours-découverte dans les jardins
Un premier parcours des « Plantes voyageuses » permets de découvrir leurs origines géographiques parfois très lointaines : Verveine de Buenos Aires, Rosier Rugueux du Japon, Buis des îles Baléares… Un second parcours est consacré aux oiseaux qui font étape au château.
Un projet élaboré avec le concours de la Ligue Protection des Oiseaux (LPO).
Ces deux parcours sont accessibles librement, sans supplément.
